Twinkle brothers

Formed in 1962 by the Grant brothers (Norman and Ralston), the Twinkle brothers first won various local contests before recording their first title, “Somebody Please Help Me” in 1966 for producer Leslie Kong. It was in the early 1970s that “the Twinkles” began to auto-produce, eventually signing for the Frontline label (Virgin), which will certainly remain as their best album (Love en 77 and countrymen in 80). The Twinkle brothers quickly became an icon of the roots scene in England. The sound system Operator Jah Shaka is also partly responsible for their success in Europe.
